Download Pictures From Samsung Galaxy S5

The Samsung Galaxy S5 provides a convenient and easy method to connect to your PC and transfer your pictures to your PC via USB 3.0. To transfer your pictures from your phone device to your PC, please follow the following Steps. How do you download pictures and videos from the Samsung Galaxy S5 to an external hard drive? I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 that is almost full of pictures and videos and I want to download them all to my external hard drive right away.

The below steps will show you how to connect your smartphone to your PC, and where to find your photos on your device. You will then be able to move images to any folder on your PC.

This will show you how to move photos manually. However, depending on your model and operating system, there are also ways to automatically back up your photos so that you have peace of mind whatever happens.

If you are uploading your photos because you have a new device, Samsung's Smart Switch app can copy all your data, including photos, from your old device to your new one.

The Samsung Flow feature allows your device to securely log into your computer and transfer your data using Near Field Communication (NFC).

The Samsung Cloud feature on compatible devices also allows you to use your Samsung account to back up all your device data, including photos.

You can also use Dropbox to automatically upload your photos to your online Dropbox account as you take them.

How to manually back up your photos to your PC:

1Connect your smartphone to your PC using a USB cable. You may be asked to Allow access on your device's screen (this may not appear depending on your device and if you have allowed it in the past).
2Your device can connect to your computer in a number of different ways, from charging only to appearing as a separate drive.

To make sure you are connected properly, swipe down from the top of the screen then tap on the connection that has appeared.

Your options will differ depending on your device. Tap an option that allows an MTP connection.

3Once your device is connected to your computer via an MTP connection, it will now appear on your computer as one of the available drives.

You'll now see your device available to view on your computer. Depending on the software you're running, you can see this by clicking on My Computer or going to Start>Computer

4Click on your device. You will now see your phone details. If you have an SD card, this will also appear here.
5You will now see all the files on your phone. Your photos can be found under the folder DCIM .

Note that if you save your photos to your SD card, they will be under DCIM in the SD folder and not the Phone one.

6You can now drag and drop your pictures from your phone to wherever you want to save them on your computer.
